In an one sided final Chennai retained their crown as King of Indian Premier League by lifting 2011 IPL4 trophy beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by a huge margin of 58 runs on Saturday, 28th May, 2011 at Chepauk Stadium Chennai. CSK made 205/5 n 20 overs and RCB made 147/8 in 20 overs.

Dhon won the toss and Chennai openers put the best opening partnership in the history of IPL with 159 runs in 15 overs as Hussey hit 63 off 45 balls and M Vijay played a brilliant inning of 95 runs off just 52 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes. They lost some quick wickets but managed to score highest score in the final with 205/5 as all bowlers got the hammering by Vijay and Hussey.

Chasing a huge target RCB's inning derailed in the 1st over itself when in-form and highest run scorer in the tournament Chris Gayle out without scoring any runs bowled by Ashwin also took the wicket of other opener Agarwal in his next over. They soon lost the match when they reduced to 70/6 in 10 overs and managed only 147/8 as only Kohl 35 and Saurabh Tiwary 42* not out put some fight. R Ashwin was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets for just 16 runs.
