IPL3 DC vs KKR 1st Match Result - Kolkata Knight Riders won by 11 runs

In the opening match of 2010 Indian Premier League - IPL3, Kolkata Knight Riders beat defending champion Deccan Chargers by 11 runs on Friday, 12th March, 2010 at Mumbai. KKR made 161/4 in 20 overs while DC made 150/7 in 20 overs

Kolkata Knight Riders invited to bat first got a bad start as they lost both openers without any runs and struggling at 31/4 after 5 overs but Owais Shah hit 58 of 46 balls and Angelo Mathews made 65 runs off 46 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes, put 131 runs unbeaten prtnership in 15 overs and took the score to 161.

In reply Deccan Chargers got a good start by Laxman 22 and Gilchrist 54 with 61 runs in 6 overs but they lost wicket at regular intervals with Lengveldt took 2 wickets for 26 runs and gave KKR a winning strat in the IPL3 season.
