Kolkata Knight Rider's Brendon McCullum smashed a fiery unbeaten 158 in just 73 balls, the highest score in a Twenty20 match, in the opening match of the inaugural Indian Premier League tournament against Bangalore Royal Challengers.
McCullum hit 10 fours and 13 sixes in his record inning helped Shah Rukh Khan's team to post 222/3 in 20 overs. Bangalore team was in no condition to fight back after that battering, and collapsed limply to 82 to lose by an embarrassing margin of 140 runs, the fourth-largest defeat in 20-20 match.
