Chennai Super Kings won a match after 3 consecutive defeats in 2009 IPL, as they beat defending champion Rajasthan Royals by 38 runs in the 2nd game on Thursday, 30th April, 2009 at Centurion. Chennai made 164/5 and restricted Rajasthan to 126 all out in 19.3 overs.

ChennaiSuper Kings started poorly as they reduced to 17/2 but one of the dynamic innings by Suresh Raina scored 98 runs off 55 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes and taken the score to 164/5 in 20 overs. Yusuf Pathan bowled well took 2 wickets for 17 runs.

In reply Rajasthan Royals slumped to 126 all out in 19.3 overs as L Balaji took 4 wickets for 21 runs and only Asnodkar made 37 runs.

As expected England players leads the 2009 Indian Premier League - IPL auction specially Kevin Pietersen and allrounder Andrew Flintoff are the highest paid players at a price of US$ 1.55 million by Bangalore Royal Challengers and Chennai Super Kings respectively on Friday, 6th February, 2009 in Goa.

But Auction highlight was Bangladesh's fast bowler Mashrafe Mortaza, who sold at 12 times of his base price at US$ 600,000 by Kolkata Knight Riders. Rajasthan Royals got Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait for US$ 375,000 and unknown but highest wicket taker in T20 format for US$ 650,000.

South African new sensation Jean-Paul Duminy was bought by Mumbai Indians for US$ 950,000. England all-rounder Ravi Bopara was bought by Kings XI Punjab for US$ 450,000. Find the list of players won by each frenchise in 2009 IPL auction:

Auction for the 2nd edition of Indian Premier League - IPL will be held on Friday, 6th February, 2009 in Goa. 112 players are available for the second IPL auction and England's players are also available for the 1st time in IPL.

Much awaited transfer window of Indian Premier League - IPL for 2009 season opened on Tuesday, 23rd December, 2008 for the period of one month. In this transfer window Frencisie's can buy and sell players.

Meanwhile 2008 IPL winner Rajasthan Royal's players were in high demnad specially, Shane Watson, Yusuf Pathan, Swapnil Asnodkar, Mohammad Kaif, Ravindra Jadeja, Dinesh Salunke, Sohail Tanveer and Munaf Patel. But question is that Rajasthan Royal will sell its start players.

On the other hand Vijay Mallya put his entire Bangalore Royal Challenger team on sale except Rahul Dravis which is an "Icon Player" nad can't put on sale. So Indian Fast bowler Zaheer han, South African Sensation Dale Steyn and T20 Specialist Pakistani Misbah-ul-Haq is now available for other teams.

But all frenchisies will wait for next year auction in February, 2009. Players like Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, Owais Shah, Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Tait, Michael Clarke, Thilan Thushara, Steve Harmison, Chris Broad and Paul Collingwood will be available.
