Chennai beats Punjab by 9 wickets in IPL's 2nd Semi-Final
Similar to 1st Semi-Final IPL's 2nd semifinal was also a one sided affair as Chennai Super Kings beats favorite Kings XI Punjab by 9 wickets with 31 balls remaining at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Saturday, 31st May, 2008.
Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to bat 1st but restricted to 112/8 in 20 overs due to fine bowling by Ntini, Gonyand Morkel took 2 wickets each. Punjab reduced to 45/6 in 10 overs but managed to cross 100 runs mark.
Chennai Super Kings replied well with 102 runs unbeaten partnership between Parthive Patel and Suresh Raina. Patel scored 51 runs off 48 balls with 8 fours and Raina contributed 55 runs off 34 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes.
Chennai Super Kings have now beaten Kings XI Punjab in all three matches between the two sides and will need to gear up for Rajasthan Royals tomorrow in 2008 IPL DLF Cup Final at DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.
