
KXIP vs KKR Result - Punjuab won by 6 wickets in a last ball thriller
In an another exciting match of 2009 Indian Premier League, night mare continues for Kolkata Knight Riders as they lost by 6 wickets on the last match of the ball against Kings XI Punjab in the 1st game on Sunday, 3rd May, 2009 at Port Elizabeth. KKR scored 153/3 and KXIP made 154/4 in 20 overs.Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat 1st and scored 153/3 in 20 overs thanks to Brad Hodge whi hit 70 runs off 43 balls with 10 four and a six and scored 101 runs in last 10 overs with Ganguly and Morne van Wyk made 22 and 18 runs respectively.
Kings XI Punjab lost Sangakkara for duck but due Jayawardhane's unbeaten 52 runs, 34 by Katich, 25 from Sohal and Irfan Pathan's 19 runs in the end took them home on the last ball. Kolkata had to blame them as they lost due to poor fielding.
