RCB v CSK 2011 IPL 1st Play-Off Result - Chennai in Finals of IPL4,beat Bangalore in a thriller


In a high scoring 1st Play-off between top two teams, defending champions Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets with 2 balls remaining on Tuesday, 24th May, 2011 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. RCB made 175/4 in 20 overs and CSK made 177/4 in 19.4 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost their most in-form batsman Chris Gayle early but Agarwal 34 runs and Virat Kohli who played a brilliant inning of unbeaten 70 runs off just 44 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes helps them to set a huge total of 175/4 in 20 overs while Pomersbach contributed with 29 runs off 18 balls.

In reply, Chennai Super Kings lost Hussey in the 1st over itself by Zaheer and then Vjay in the next over by Arvind. Badrinath 34 runs and Raina then took the score to 70 runs in 10 overs. Chennai needed 12 runs an over but Dhoni 29 runs and Raina played fearlessly and took the score to 134 runs with 61 runs partnership in just 5.4 overs. They needed 58 runs in last 4 overs but Raina hit unbeaten 73 runs off 50 balls with 4 fours and 6 sixes and Albie Morkel made 10 balls 28 runs to seal a thrilling win with 2 balls remaining.
