DC vs KXIP Result - Punjab won a thriller by 3 wickets with 1 ball remaining

In a thrilling contest of twenty20 in IPL2, Kings XI Punjab beat Deccan Chargers by 3 wickets with 1 ball remaining in the first match of Saturday, 9th May, 2009 at Kimberley. DC made 168/5 in 20 overs and KXIP made 169/7 in 19.5 overs.

Deccan Chargers started well but slowed down in the middle orders due to fine bowling by Brett Lee but new joiny Andrew Symonds made an immediate impact with 60 not out runs off 36 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes to make arespected total of 168/5 in 20 overs.

Kings XI Punjab got a good start but 2 wickets before the strategy break put the team in trouble but Jayawardhane and Brett Lee batted sensibly in the end to seal the victory for the tean and pushed them to 5th place in 2009 IPL points table.
