In the high scoring 51st match of the IPL2, Kolkata Knight Riders finally won a match and they won handsomely as the beat strong Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets on the last ball to take some pride in the only game of Monday, 18th May, 2009 at Centurion. CSK made 188/3 in 20 overs and KKR made 189/3 in 20 overs.
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat 1st and without their star performer Mathew Hayden scored 188/3 in 20 overs thanks to Raina, scored 52 runs and well contribution by Dhoni, 40 runs, 30 runs by Bailey and 10 balls 21 run by Albie Morkel in the end.
In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders put their best performance of the 2009 IPL with the 90 runs 2nd wicket partnership between McCullum and Brad Hodge scored 81runs off just 48 balls with 11 fours and 3 sixes and unbeaten 71 runs off 44 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes respectively to set the way of victory and in the end 13 ball 25 runs by Saha completed an amazing chase of IPL2.
