Rajasthan out of IPL2, lost to Kolkata by 4 wick in a crunch game
Defending champion Rajasthan Royals knocked out of the 2009 IPL as they lost in a tight low scoring game to bottom team Kolkata Knight Riders by 4 wickets in their last league match in the 1st game of Wednesday, 20th May, 2009 at Durban. RR made only 101/9 in 20 overs and KKR made 102/6 in 20 overs.Rajasthan Royals got a great start scored 22 runs in the 1st over by Naman Ojha but then reduced to 28/3 in 4 overs. Charl Langeveldt bowled beautifully took 3 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs to restrict the champions to 101/9 in 20 overs.
In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders reduced to 45/6 in 11 overs on a difficult pitch but then Laxmi Ratan Shukla put his best peformance of the season with unbeaten 48 runs well supported by Agarkar with 13 not out to seal a victory with 3 balls remaining.
